COURSE DESCRIPTION

Turn your passion for beauty into a rewarding career with the SHB40121 Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy. This nationally recognised qualification equips you with the practical skills and industry knowledge to deliver professional beauty treatments across a wide range of salon services.

At PCC Beauty Academy, you'll train in a purpose-built salon environment under experienced beauty industry professionals. Throughout the course, you'll develop the confidence to perform facials, body massage, makeup application, nail services, waxing, tanning, lash and brow treatments and more while providing exceptional customer service.

Graduates are prepared for employment in beauty salons, day spas, wellness clinics and cosmetic retail environments or to continue their studies in higher-level beauty qualifications. Upon successful completion of all assessment requirements, students will be awarded the nationally recognised SHB40121 Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy.

After completing this qualification, students may choose to continue their studies in the SHB50121 Diploma of Beauty Therapy.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Throughout this course, you will learn how to:

  • Apply makeup for everyday, special occasions and photography
  • Deliver waxing, tanning, lash and brow services
  • Perform manicure and pedicure services

  • Maintain infection control and workplace hygiene standards
  • Conduct salon services and financial transactions
  • Promote products and deliver excellent customer service

DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT

Training is delivered face-to-face by qualified and experienced trainers at PCC Beauty Academy, located within the Western Sydney Skills Hub in North Parramatta.

Assessments include a combination of:

  • Practical demonstrations
  • Knowledge questions
  • Case studies
  • Client services
  • Projects
  • Workplace observations

Students should allow approximately 10–15 hours of independent study per week to complete assessments and reinforce practical learning.

REQUIREMENTS

There are no formal entry requirements.

Students should have:

  • Basic language, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Access to a computer and internet for research and assessment activities

Learner manuals from Skin Deep Learning are provided at no additional cost.

GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY

You may be eligible for FEE-FREE training. This training is funded by the NSW Government. Eligibility criteria apply.
